Medical certificate

There are two separate medical-related steps, easy to mix up: a data page uploaded with the application, and a full certificate needed only after you are awarded the scholarship.

At application stage

Only the page of the certificate template that carries your personal data and photograph is uploaded with the rest of your application documents, by the main deadline.

If you are awarded the scholarship

• The full medical certificate must be issued and signed by a physician, declaring the applicant's medical condition against the list of conditions on the official form.
• It must be recently issued — for the 2026/2027 round, the issue date on the document could not be earlier than 1 November 2025.
• It is not uploaded to the online system. Scholarship holders bring it to Hungary and present it, with its attachments, at the compulsory medical examination organised by the host institution on arrival — which is free of charge for scholarship holders.
• Applicants to the Students at Risk Subprogramme (Ukrainian citizens) do not need to present a medical certificate at this examination.

The official certificate template and the exact list of conditions it covers are part of the current call for applications — check the version in force for the round you are applying to, since the required issue-date window moves with each round.
